Numerology

Name and birth date only. No birth time, no birth city, nothing sensitive.

Method, stated

Pythagorean letter values. Life Path by reduce-components-first: month, day and year each reduced, then summed, then reduced. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are preserved at every stage rather than reduced through. The competing whole-date method disagrees on some dates; this one is the choice and it is stated rather than hidden.

Why no birth time or place: Pythagorean numerology works from the letters of the name and the calendar date only. A time or a place would not change any number on this page, so it does not ask for one. The chart tools that do need them, compatibility and Chinese Four Pillars, ask.

Tarot birth cards: Mary K. Greer’s method, from Tarot for Your Self (1984). Month, day and year are added as whole numbers, then the digits of the total are added; above 22, the digits are added again. That is the Personality card, and adding its digits gives the Soul card. 22 is The Fool, paired with The Emperor; 19 gives three cards, The Sun, Wheel of Fortune and The Magician. Strength is 8 and Justice 11, as in the 1909 deck.
